Becoming a Patron of the National Portrait Gallery means joining a unique group of people passionate about portraiture, art and history.
The Gallery is home to the most extensive Collection of portraits in the world. Through seasons of bespoke events, our Patrons delve into the stories behind the portraits, using art to bring history to life and explore living today.
Your experience as a Patron
As a Patron, you meet the artists and sitters featured in our collection, you’re the first to see our exhibitions, and you spend time with fellow Patrons at awards, exclusive events and curated art trips. You hear stories about the individuals in our Collection who have shaped Britain, and discover insights others will not encounter. There are four tiers of Patronage, each deepening your relationship with us.
Your impact as a Patron
Your support makes it possible for us to share our Collection in new and dynamic ways, and acquire works that continue to expand our Collection in a way that responds to evolving dialogues about our culture. As a Patron, you are an ambassador for the Gallery, and enter into a partnership with us to help preserve and champion the stories of people who have shaped, and continue to shape a nation.

We offer four tiers of Patronage: Bloomsbury Patrons, Reynolds Patrons, Ditchley Patrons and Life Patrons. Each level offers new opportunities to interact with the Gallery and our Collection – you can find out more, and sign up as a Patron, through the pages below.
