Nasser Hussain
(1968-), Cricketer; Captain of the England Cricket TeamSitter in 1 portrait
Born in Madras, India, Nasser Hussain moved with his family to Ilford, Essex when he was six years old. He first played cricket for Essex Under-11 schools, aged eight. He was named Young Cricketer of the Year in 1989. In 1990 began his Test match career in a match against the West Indies at Sabina Park, Kingston. Having proved himself as an accomplished batsman and fielder, he succeeded Alec Stewart as Captain of the England team (1999-2003). He was awarded an OBE in 2002.
